3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer - Contract - 6 Months - Outside IR35 - Immediate Start

An excellent opportunity has arisen working with a financial client, helping them with Infrastructure and support over the next 6 months. Immediate start necessary as looking to start the right candidate within the next 2 weeks. 
Purpose of role
The 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the IT infrastructure and business applications operate effectively and securely and providing support for application users. The role will be focus on BAU, maintenance and support activities, with some involvement in project work as required.

Key Role Responsibilities
  • Configuring, managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure and security technologies including:
  • MS 365.
  • MS Endpoint Manager (Configuration/Application delivery for end user devices).
  • End user devices (Laptops, and company issued mobile-phones).
  • SharePoint (Document library and intranet).
  • Cloud / Azure infrastructure components.
  • IAM (e.g., Azure Active Directory).
  • Network components.
  • Monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Security technologies.
  • Ensuring the IT systems operate efficiently and reliably to satisfy business objectives.
  • Ensuring a high level of support (1st-3rd line as appropriate) for users. 
  • Prioritising and managing service desk tickets.
  • Monitoring IT availability, health, compliance and Information security.
  • Producing IT and information security management reports.
  • Continuously assessing IT and information security arrangements to ensure they are fit for purpose.
Project work (as required)
  • Contributing to the evaluation, assessment, design of suitable technology solutions.
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of IT and information security practices and procedures. 
  • Implementing new technologies / systems / services and enhancements (working with vendors as appropriate) as part of a continuous improvement programme and to meet evolving business needs.
Person Specification
  • Significant experience of IT service support– in 1st/2nd and 3rd
  • Experience of IT infrastructure projects and BAU ensuring infrastructure availability.
  • Experience of information security operations.
  • Experience of producing reports on IT performance.
  • Experience of working in an organisation using primarily Cloud based infrastructure.
  • Analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, being able to recognise which tasks need to be prioritised and ensuring that these are delivered as soon as possible, while ensuring other tasks continue to be progressed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good listener, confident in communicating both verbally and in writing at all levels and the ability to help non-technical users with technical issues.
  • Ability to operate proactively and independently whilst also working well within a small team.
  • Highly motivated, organised, with strong time-management skills.
  • Resourceful, finds practical solutions; hands-on and gets things done well and quickly with a proactive can-do attitude.
  • Calm under pressure and able to rally people to get escalating issues under control.
