Transparency In Our Journey: Where We Started

On the road to net zero, we’re started to measure and assess our greenhouse gas emissions through three different scopes. The three scopes categorise the different kinds of emissions a company uses in its own operations and with its suppliers and customers, creating a full emission inventory.

We’ve identified that we emitted 100.3 tonnes of CO2 from April 2022 to April 2023. That’s comparable to 76.2 round trip flights from London to New York.

This was made up of approximately 10% energy and fuel, 20% business travel, 34% employee commuting and beyond these direct emissions (scope 1 and 2) we also identified significant contributions from indirect sources (scope 3) such as business activities like entertainment and hospitality.

Our Partners

We’re not experts in sustainability, so in order to establish a baseline for our future emissions reduction initiatives, we collaborated with James Staniforth, a sustainability consultant from Sustainable Business Services, to perform a thorough analysis of our carbon footprint. We will continue working together as we implement strategies to lower our environmental impact going forward.

 

In addition to that, we have been working with EcoVadis, an independent rating provider, to benchmark our performance across a comprehensive set of non-financial criteria. EcoVadis assessments extend beyond just environmental sustainability to also evaluate factors like labour practices, human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement along the supply chain. Their scoring system has provided valuable insights to guide our decision-making around environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies and initiatives.
