At MBA, we recognise the limitations of conventional approaches and embark on a journey to redefine employee wellbeing from the ground up. Our mission is simple yet profound: to foster a workplace culture where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive both personally and professionally.

Do you know that over 76% of professionals in the UK report moderate to high stress levels, according to Champion Health’s 2023 Employee Wellbeing Statistics? That’s a considerable amount of the workforce feeling the pressure. But here’s the good news: Businesses can create a win-win situation through prioritising the well-being of employees. Happy employees are more productive, engaged, and less likely to take sick leave.

Listening First, Action Always

Traditionally, employee wellbeing initiatives have been dictated from the top down; with management. At MBA, we understand that true transformation begins with listening. That's why we've adopted a bottom-up approach, placing the power in the hands of our employees.

Through company-wide, anonymous feedback sessions, we've created a platform for open and honest dialogue, allowing employees to freely voice their concerns, suggestions, and aspirations. This invaluable input serves as the foundation of our wellbeing strategy, ensuring that every initiative is tailored to meet our workforce's diverse needs and preferences.

Prioritising Mental Health

Mental health issues are more common than you might think; in the UK, 1 out of 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any given year. We understand that mental health is just as important as physical health. Recognising the importance of mental health, we've partnered with Paranimo, a confidential mental health therapy platform, to provide our employees with access to professional support whenever needed. Paranimo connects our employees with qualified therapists who can provide support for a wide range of concerns. Whether they’re feeling stressed, anxious, or simply want to talk to someone, Paranimo is here to help.

Creating a Fun and Inspiring Workspace:

Studies show that a well-designed workspace can significantly impact employee satisfaction and productivity. A 2022 report by the University of Warwick found that employees in environments with strong social connections reported feeling 22% more productive. 

So, we have transformed our workspace design to spark our people’s creativity and fuel collaboration. We know a dull office environment can zap energy, so we've been busy creating an office that inspires everyone to bring their A-game every day.

Our Vision: A Space That Works for Our People:

  • Game On!: We've added fun games to the mix, encouraging them to take those well-deserved breaks and unwind with colleagues. We’ve added darts, table tennis, and more to contribute to a fun office with friendly competition.

  • Fresh Look, Fresh Start: We said goodbye to our old office look. We’ve added a new coat of paint, stylish décor, and a photo wall showcasing our fantastic team to create a more positive and inspiring atmosphere. (special thank you to Jenny Gill and Whitney-Lee Massey for making this possible)

  • Collaboration Station: We've revamped the office layout to foster teamwork and break down departmental barriers. Our aim was to connect colleagues from across the company and brainstorm brilliant ideas together!

  • Their Voice Matters: We’ve added a suggestion board to give employees a platform to share their ideas for making the workspace even better.

This is just the beginning! We're committed to creating a space where everyone feels comfortable, valued, and inspired to do their best work.

Collaborative Culture Club

Did you know that a positive company culture can lead to a whopping 19% increase in revenue? [Glassdoor Culture At Work report, 2023]. That's right, feeling valued and supported at work can seriously boost the company's bottom line. While money is important for any business,  it's not just about the money. A strong culture creates a sense of belonging and connection, which can make work more enjoyable and fulfilling for everyone.

At MBA, we believe a strong company culture is the secret to a happy and successful workplace. We have launched a Culture Club, an epic initiative designed by employees for employees.

How it Works:

The Culture Club is all about putting the power in their hands. We've gathered a crew of fantastic employee volunteers from across the company. Their mission? To dream up creative incentives, team-building and wellness activities, and events that make MBA the place to be.

This means more opportunities to connect with colleagues, have fun, and build lasting relationships. The Culture Club is our people’s chance to shape the kind of work environment they want to be a part of – positive, collaborative, and productive!

Going Green:

Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future

At MBA, we know protecting our planet is essential. That's why we're stepping up our game and going green! We're on a mission to become more sustainable, and we're taking a step-by-step approach to make a real difference.

We’ll be honest: we're not sustainability experts (yet!), but we're serious about making a positive impact. We've teamed up with expert James from Sustainability Business Solutions to guide us on this journey and started using Ecovadis to guide our decision-making. Together, we're coming up with ways to shrink our environmental footprint. From reducing waste and conserving energy to sourcing sustainable materials and supporting local initiatives, we're committed to positively impacting the planet. By aligning our business practices with our values, we're reducing our environmental impact and inspiring others to join us in the fight against climate change.
